51 Percent of Employed 2014 College Grads Are in Jobs That Don’t Require a Degree, Finds CareerBuilder Survey
Want to improve your chances of landing a successful job entering the career you really want? It doesn't happen by chance and it isn't luck. I work with current college students that want to take steps while they are in college to improve their chances at a successful launch of their career after school. I also partner with recent college graduates that may be struggling to find the right opportunity. Below are some typical plans - or a plan can be customized for your situation.
Current College Students (Freshman-Juniors)
Series designed for current college students (typically freshman-juniors) which we cover over a 4-month time frame. These are designed to help students pick experiences, learn success fundamentals, and make connections that will bring them the highest likelihood of success in obtaining the right opportunity when they graduate.
They are delivered one-on-one over two (2) 1-hour sessions per month via phone. The first session of the month will determine the level of current competency the student has in the area and will focus on learning and creating a short-term action plan. The second session will focus on execution of the plan and working through any challenges or obstacles.
Creating a good network while still in school that students can leverage when they are ready for that first professional position. Since most career opportunities come from people we know - this is very important to establish early.

4) Personal Branding

After College (Seniors - Recent Graduates)
Series designed for college students about to graduate or college graduates (typically seniors to 2 years after graduation) which we cover over a 4-month time frame. These are designed to assist with finding experiences, learning and applying success fundamentals, and using connections that will bring them the highest likelihood of landing the right job quickly.
They are delivered one-on-one over two (2) 1-hour sessions per month via phone. The first session of the month will assess the current state and will focus on any needed learning and creating a strategy. The second session will focus on execution of the plan and working through specific challenges or obstacles in executing the strategy.
